FAQ

Straight answers about how it works, privacy and its limits.

Does it record or upload audio?

No. The sound is analyzed live in your browser and discarded. Nothing is recorded or sent to a server.

Is it a baby monitor?

No. It doesn't replace watching your baby or a safety monitor. It helps keep the room quiet.

Why does it ask for 10 seconds of silence?

To learn the normal sound of your room. That way a fan or the fridge doesn't count as noise.

Does the ā€œshhhā€ set itself off?

No. Listening pauses while the ā€œshhhā€ plays and for a few seconds afterwards.

Is white noise safe?

Keep it low and away from the crib, at least 2 m (7 ft). It's off by default and plays at a low volume.

Does it work with the screen locked?

No. Browsers stop the microphone when the screen locks or the tab goes to the background. Keep the page open and the device plugged in; we ask the screen to stay on when the browser allows it.
